Programs

Vihaan - CSC Project

The project is part of the broader framework of NACP IV (National AIDS Control Programme - Phase IV), with a goal of setting up Care and Support Centers (CSCs) across India. These centers aim to address the diverse needs of PLHIV, including psychological, social, and economic support, while also linking them with treatment services.
A key aspect of the Vihaan project is its focus on cost-effectiveness and the integration of care and support services into the NACP IV by the end of the project's timeline. This integration is essential to ensure the long-term sustainability of care and support activities.
The project also envisions creating a system of partnerships between civil society organizations (CSOs) and local governments, enabling these partnerships to take over the care and support functions even after the project concludes. This strategy ensures that support for PLHIV is maintained in the long run, contributing to the larger national goal of effective and sustained HIV management.

Health Support

APPLE firmly believes that for the PLHIV family, offering health services alone is insufficient; there is an intrinsic relationship between nutrition, counseling, and health education, which comes after medical care. In this instance, the group offers the underprivileged counseling services regarding health difficulties and other matters pertaining to personal cleanliness. Along with a concerned field worker, APPLE has a home-based team consisting of a doctor, ANM, and counselor. This strategy's major goal is to raise health awareness among positive people so they can take care of small things at home. Since the start of this program, the other members of the PLHA family have accepted positive living and, more importantly, have assisted the infected individual in leading a healthy life with a good outlook.
